February 2026 Meeting Notes

We had a great turnout today! Despite the early rain, it was a busy meeting with demos, a prize drawing, auction, trade item presentation, show-and-tell presentations, group-buy pickup, open forge time, and lots of wonderful fellowship!

We saw some beautiful and creative pieces made for the trade item made with dissimilar metals!

The spread included copper, steel, brass, silver, and titanium used in various ways: a bracelet, ladle, ring, pendant, rose, spatula, bottle opener coffee scoop spoon, bottle opener clip...

Which one was your favorite—If you had to pick a winner which one would it be?

A special welcome to our new members and first-time visitors who joined us for the first time!

Congratulations to Daniel and Steve Theis who won the membership drive prize bundle!

Thank you to Tom Lupton for bringing the tent to help us try to keep everything dry from the rain, and to Joy Ream for bringing her delicious homemade banana nut bread to share!

Last but not least, a big thank you to Aaron Tilton and Rudy L. Billings for running the meeting, and Philip Typaldos Waters for your demo and assistance at the forge all day!

Welcome Message

Hello fellow members,

I am writing to extend a warm welcome to this wonderful new year of learning, sharing and growing together as a blacksmithing community. We are so glad to have you join us!

We have many exciting things planned for this year, but I want to point your attention to our upcoming meeting on Saturday, February 14, 2006 at the Texas Museum of Handmade Furniture in New Braunfels.

The trade item will be an item made from dissimilar metals.
Remember, you have to make one to take one! We look forward to seeing some awesome pieces!

Please note: All of our official meetings begin at 9:00am, unless otherwise noted.

We plan to do the Membership Drive Prize Drawing at the meeting. We hope to see you there!

*Remember to bring cash if you participated in the group buy from Blacksmiths Depot and have not yet paid for your order. Please see Rudy Billings for pick up.

Judging of the Tomahawk Competition will take place during our March meeting.

Stay tuned for more updates for some special Spring and Summer events.

Blessings,

Aurora L. Rogers, Secretary
